GALLERY OF MODERN AND CONTEMPORARY ART
ARTkitchen Gallery is a project space for national and international artists. The gallery exhibits at the cultural business park 1800 Roeden Amsterdam, the home base of ARTkitchen. With great regularity, ARTkitchen joins national and international fairs to show the latest work of our artists. Thanks to long lasting contacts and years of experience in the field, ARTkitchen mediates between artists and private, business clients and musea. With a minimum of 12 solo and group exhibitions per year, ARTkitchen offers a great diversity of art disciplines and (historical) movements. Often, exhibitions are the motive for publishing artist books and special editions.
ORGANIZER OF THE MONTHLY CULT CLUB EVENTS
ARTkitchen gallery is the organizer of the monthly CULT CLUB event, every last Friday of the month. Since May 2011, Amsterdam can be proud to have the only high profile and sensational Art Society in the Netherlands. Every CULT CLUB edition focusses on a current subject, whether it is of international, national or local interest. The goal of every night is to bring like-minded people together, and inform them about the latest news from the world of art (business), design and culture. Every CULT CLUB night we organize lectures, performances, cult films and music performances. And not only do we feed the brain, we also nurish the senses and inner human with extensive buffets. The CULT CLUB brings you up-to-date on todays art topics and offers you an inside in the professional art world, where being together and discussing current issues is essential.
PUBLICATIONS OF SPECIAL EDITIONS AND ARTIST BOOKS
Ever since the foundation in 1993, ARTkitchen Gallery publishes special editions and artist books on it’s own account. ARTkitchen finds a close companion in Harry Ruhé from Galerie A. This collaboration delivered book as ‘Punk in Holland’ (2011) and ‘Shame and Scandal’ (2012). This Summer the artist edition ‘Punk Files’ of Hugo Kaagman was published.
DEVELOPMENT OF CONCEPTS FOR EXHIBITIONS AND ART EVENTS
ARTkitchen Gallery works often outside of the gallery walls. We work together with commercial partners, (local) governments, musea and other cultural foundations on projects with educational purpose. For every project we invite one or more of our artists to join. The experience we gained during the years makes us a reliable partner in the development of concepts for exhibitions, educational cultural activities and workshops and for exciting cult parties. The exhibition ‘Stencil Station’ about Hugo Kaagman in the Railway Museum Utrecht (till 2nd September 2012) was our latest project.
