artKitchen Gallery is a project space for contemporary national and international art. The gallery offers a selection of works by both established and new artists. ArtKitchen Gallery hosts at least six exhibitions per year and is involved in various art fairs around the country and the rest of the world.

Cult Club: Uit de klei getrokken

The Cult Club digs into the deepest layers of the Amsterdam ground and excavates its ceramic core. The six thousand year old clay, which seems useless, in fact holds exciting possibilities for artists Joost Benthem and Emmeline de Mooij, who will open the temporary Museum of Mud in 2012, providing a source of inspiration for their unconventional art work. The Amsterdam artists, De Mooij and Benthem, use mud as a medium for their installations, serigraphs and performances. The Cult Club displays their latest action using this ancient medium.

Cult Club: Shame & Scandal

Vrijdag 27 april, vanaf 17:00, presenteert de Cult Club een bijzondere avond met een tentoonstelling, een lezing, films en een boek.

Het opeten van een baby, levende dieren gebruiken als beeldend materiaal, het beledigen van de Profeet, een van je vingers doneren, in het biizijn van President Clinton je broek laten zakken - het is door kunstenaars allemaal al eens gedaan.
Sommige taboes verdwijnen. Sex is nauwelijks nog een taboe-onderwerp, het Koningshuis mag straffeloos beledigd worden. Maar er ontstaan nieuwe taboes...
